Overview:
One of our top clients is seeking more than one Project Development Manager tasked with supporting our growing greenfield development pipeline in the Midwest, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic Regions. The Manager will be focused on de-risking greenfield development projects through the successful completion of real estate, permitting, environmental, interconnection, and other requirements to bring a project to construction-ready status for our distributed generation, energy storage, and utility-scale projects.

Role:
- Lead project entitlement and permitting efforts in defined markets.
- Coordinate with and make recommendations to the engineering team and operations to overcome environmental, permitting, or interconnection constraints.
- Negotiate and execute key project contracts, including site lease and easement agreements, interconnection agreements, PILOT agreements, etc.
- Monitor and evaluate clean energy trends and policies to communicate recommendations on strategic development to the leadership team.
- Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of pipeline projects at various stages of development
- Make recommendations to leadership regarding project viability from RFP responses to late-stage development
- Establish and foster critical relationships with local permitting authorities, utilities, community members, and other third-party solar developers
- Manage third-party contracts with the firm’s technical, environmental, and interconnection consultants in support of project development efforts
- Partner with interconnection lead to drive favorable results for grid integration
- Work with engineering resources to create proposed site layouts and designs
- Participate with the engineering team in scope development, project specifications, and component selection to ensure best-in-class solar system design packages
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of three years of experience permitting small or large utility-scale, ground-mounted solar arrays or project development experience with wind or battery storage.
- Strong project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet short deadlines.
- Experience consulting various GIS databases to identify site restrictions, terrain, flood plains, easements, etc.
- Experience evaluating and mitigating real estate risks, such as securing lease agreements, obtaining required easements, and clearing title policy restrictions (SNDAs, etc.).
- Experience working in communities with planning boards and other agencies related to permitting, zoning, and other community engagement.
- Familiarity with solar technologies and related electrical equipment, including vendors, products, technical specifications, utility, and commercial standards, and applicable codes.
- Ability to travel 25-30 percent of the time.
